In Cairo, today, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, a significant workshop titled "The Impact and Uses of Artificial Intelligence on Arab Children" commenced.

The event, held on September 9, 2024, is organized by the Arab Council for Childhood and Development in partnership with the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND). It brings together 30 experts from five Arab countries: Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, and Morocco.

The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Hassan Belaiwi, Secretary-General of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development.

In his opening remarks, Belaiwi emphasized that while the digital age has inundated the world with vast amounts of data, there is an ongoing need for knowledge and wisdom in its application.

He stressed that scientific research centers and experts must ensure that technological advancements contribute to human development within a framework of enlightenment, humanity, and social justice.

Belaiwi highlighted the council’s commitment to fostering a new conceptual framework for the Arab world, focusing on creating an enlightened mindset in rapidly evolving societies driven by knowledge and technology.

The workshop, running from September 9-10, aims to explore the effects of artificial intelligence on various aspects of Arab children's lives, including education, upbringing, media, health, and the impact of crises, wars, and global developments.

This workshop is part of the council’s strategic approach to raising awareness about empowering Arab children in the era of industrial revolutions, addressing both opportunities and risks within an integrated conceptual framework. It aims to establish a meaningful connection between children and the Fourth Industrial Revolution within a global consciousness.

Additionally, during the workshop, the Arab Council for Childhood and Development honored Reda Hegazy, President of Al-Riyada University for Science and Technology and former Minister of Education, for his significant cooperation with the council over the past period.
