Egypt's Minister of Immigration and Expatriates' Affairs Nabila Makram, called on Egyptian expats to print polling cards from the website of the National Election Authority (NEA). The cards should be sent through express mail to Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad as soon as possible from November 4 to 6.
Makram said that the ministry collaborates with the National Elections Authority, to teach holders of the Egyptian passport outside the country how to run for the House of Representatives elections amid the coronavirus pandemic and encourage them to vote.
Makram called on Egyptian expats to visit the ''NEA'' website on Monday and Tuesday, to print and fill in their ballot papers for the second stage of the parliamentary elections and send them to diplomatic missions via the express E-mail.
In statements while presiding over a meeting of an operation room to follow up the participation of the Egyptians abroad in the election, Makram explained that the Egyptian expats are keen on taking part in the second round of the 2020 House of Representatives election.
The 2nd stage of the elections is taking place in the governorates of Cairo, Qalyubiya, Daqahliya, Menufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr el Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai.
Noteworthy, the Egyptians abroad started voting in the second stage of parliamentary elections on Monday. In addition, the NEA decided to allow voting through “express mail” due to the spread of COVID-19.
