The Immigration Ministry headed by Nabila Makram, launched Thursday, a national “Speak Egyptian” initiative, which aims to educate Egyptian expatriates on the history and identity of Egypt as well as teaching them Arabic. That initiative came within the state's efforts to spread cultural and national awareness among the Egyptian people, especially residing abroad. Also, it firmly seeks to entrench the Egyptian identity once more, away from all the attempts and schemes to sabotage it.

Necessary step:
Dr. Osama Heikal, Information Minister explained that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has emphasized working to preserve the Egyptian identity and build the Egyptian personality against false awareness. Heikal added that it is necessary step to teach the youth residing abroad how to speak Arabic. This would ensure developing a sense of belonging to the Arab world and to Egypt as their home country.

About the 2nd and 3rd generations of Egyptians residing abroad who only speak a foreign languages, Heikal said: “Therefore, we need to tell and connect them with Egypt so that they could communicate with their friends in Egypt. On other hand, Heikal called on Makram, to cooperate in launching Egyptian drama works on the Immigration Ministry website and the "Speak Egyptian" App.
