Immigration Min.: Egypt to Offer Necessary Help to Stranded Egyptians

Nabila Makram, the State for Immigration Minister, sent a reassuring message to all Egyptians in the Gulf countries especially in Kuwait.

In the message, Makram stressed that the priority in the next stage will be for Egyptians in this region, after videos showing Kuwaiti security forces' dispersing the Egyptians in the in a shelter were posted in social media networks. The security forces used tear gas to disperse them.

The Egyptians in Kuwait are stranded amid coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, in the last few months, many Egyptians in the Gulf country requested their country authorities to help them return home. Makram reported that a national committee was formed to follow up the case of Egyptians who are stuck abroad; it is headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly.

The committee will strive to offer necessary help all Egyptians abroad without any discrimination.The committee included in its plan in the coming new stage for the return of Egyptians abroad a number of segments, namely: the Egyptians stranded abroad, humanitarian cases, expired and violators of residency.

Contracts will also be cancelled provided that the official date for a number of trips designated for these segments will be announced at the earliest opportunity, once all precautions are necessary for their return.

On other hand, Makram noted; “Promoters of rumors try to harm the Egyptian state at the present time and take advantage of the situation for certain things, but we are continuing to work for the return of everyone back home.” The minister added that her ministry receive with great interest all the calls and demands of the Egyptians abroad.
