The Egyptian Minister Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Nabila Makram, denied the death of an Egyptian expat in Ukraine.

In addition, Makram urged people to not share any fake news about the Egyptian immigrants in Ukraine, saying that the mentioned expat is an Algerian girl, and she is alive.

Egypt’s Minister of Expatriates Affairs, Nabila Makram, assured all Egyptian students who are enrolled in Ukrainian universities and schools that the government will take all possible steps to cater for their every need.

Makram stated that the Egyptian students in Ukraine were safe, adding that she had spoken to many of them at a video briefing and communicated with several students stranded in Ukraine after Russia carried out a military operation against Ukraine on Thursday.

She also indicated that there were no casualties among the Egyptian students yesterday. “Thank God no one of them got hurt,” Makram wrote on her official Facebook account.

In the same connection, the minister asserted that the country is in continuous contact with all students providing necessary support and assistance in Ukraine amidst the war crisis.

This came just a few hours after a number of Egyptian students and their families, who are now waiting to fly back home from Ukraine amid a conflict with Russia, called on the Egyptian government to bring them back safe and sound.

It’s worth mentioning that some students in the capital city, Kyiv, said on Thursday they fear for their safety as gunshots can be heard outside.
