The International Monetary Fund has decided to postpone consultations with the Russian authorities within the framework of the annual review of the Russian economy based on Article IV of its charter.

A spokesperson for the International Monetary Fund said, according to the Russian news agency TASS, on Wednesday: "Consultations with Russia under Article IV have been postponed while we collect all the necessary data and analysis for conducting accurate consultations."

It is worth noting that the official representative of the Fund, Julie Kozack, confirmed in a regular press briefing on September 12 that the International Monetary Fund is resuming consultations with Russia under Article IV of the charter, which were suspended due to the special military operation, as the economic situation in the country stabilizes.

According to her, the Fund team is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with the Russian authorities starting on September 16, and she said that the IMF representatives will discuss with the Russian authorities the economic developments and policies in the country.
