Kristalina Georgieva said, “Every time I visit Egypt, I am amazed by the history, civilization and wonderful Egyptian people.”
She added that she came to Egypt to express her appreciation and respect for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people, explaining that Egypt has committed to the measures it has taken to grow its economy, and has committed to increasing job opportunities, especially for young people.
She stressed that Egypt has strengthened social protection programs, explaining that the growth rate has increased, and inflation has decreased to 25%, but there is a trend to reduce it to 17%.
She added: “Egypt has become safer in a world characterized by shocks, and my message to the Egyptian people is that I am confident that you will see the benefits of these reforms in the form of a more prosperous and growing economy.”
