IMF Delegation to Visit Egypt Next Month to Conduct further Consultations

Cabinet spokesman Mohamed El-Homsany said that an IMF delegation is visiting the country this month to conduct further consultations.

He continued: "We are awaiting the visit of the Fund delegation during this month to conduct further consultations regarding the economic reform program and agree on a new timetable. The details of the agreement will be announced after the end of the visit."

Egyptian government hopes that the coming period will witness more stability in the exchange rate, noting that the announcement of any new developments will be following the visit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation.

He added, during a call-in with one of the TV channels that PM Mostafa Madbouly confirmed during the government’s last press conference that there is great coordination with the Central Bank to achieve the greatest degree of stability in monetary policy.

Earlier, Madbouly said that an integrated research project is being prepared for a set of economic trends for the next stage. It takes into account the variables of global conditions and sustainable development trends.
