Every sunlight brings new hope, and with every flower sprouting a state of joy and positive energy is created.

In the modern era, with all the progress, development, and technology, people long for their roots, the land, the green color, and the green jobs as well as for the possibility of covering the earth with greenery, flowers, colors, scents, and different foods.

What is more beautiful is using that vision and helping the world eliminate the negative effects of technology, globalization, and war scenes on television screens that have become imprisoned within its walls.

This magical feeling can be experienced at Iman Mostafa’s recreational farm on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, which she created with a love for nature and people.

Mostafa took a pledge to herself to build a farm that provides clean, healthy food away from hormones and pesticides that are harmful to humans as well as create a place for everyone to spend an enjoyable time among nature, purity, and greenery as well as eat rustic breakfast or Egyptian lunch, whether delicious stuffed goods or casseroles, all of which are made from the goodness of clean nature and clean agriculture.

She named that magical place, "Hazel Farm" because she did not want the farm to be named after someone.

The hazelnut tree inspired the name and what she learned of it being a magnificent tree that gathered people under its shade, in addition to combining brown and green, which were the two colors that she was planning to use for the farm and were also the colors of the tree trunks and its green leaves, additionally to her love of nuts.

"The family had a farm on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, with palm trees and fig trees, and an area of 10 uncultivated acres," Mostafa said in a statement. "So I started to make a design for a place that would receive people and a place for children and adults activities such as planting seeds, watering plants, and educating about agriculture. In front of each planting bed (QR code), a person created a population for it, so abundant information about this plant or flower appeared."

The farm contains a variety of crops, including tomatoes, eggplant, peas, cabbage, mint, thyme, and sesame, in addition to flowers and roses such as sunflowers, which give a wonderful shape to the land.

There is also educational agriculture, such as cotton cultivation, offering fascinating information for children about how cotton is grown and harvested from the ground.

In addition, Mostafa loved people, so she thought of opening the farm on the weekends for visitors, hosting them in a picturesque natural setting, and practicing some recreational, educational, and cultural activities.

*Food culture

With the rapid pace of life and globalization, there has become a lack of interest in the identity of the food individuals consume.

Thus, Mostafa came up with the idea of offering Egyptian food made from the environment and the farm as well as prepared by peasant women working on the farm, so young and old could taste food grown organically and with ingredients they picked from the farm to establish the culture of home-cooked food.
