The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) published the first issue of Economic Prospects magazine.
It is the first specialized economic magazine issued by IDSC after a six-year pause. It provides a comprehensive vision of key economic issues through articles written by prominent experts and analysts inside and outside Egypt; in addition, it presents the most important international and local indices.
The statement issued by IDSC stated that the issue's theme would be international trade; a trade war broke out between the United States of America and China and COVID-19 pandemic has imposed many challenges on the international trade and the global supply chains' future. Thus, the world is now facing a new trade landscape that is under formation.
The first issue tackles: Novel COVID-19 Repercussions on International Trade, Egypt on the International Trade Map, and Analysis of Egypt's Position in the International Indices.
It is worth mentioning that, the first issue of Economic Prospects was enriched by elite economists and distinguished researchers; for example, Dr. Mahmoud Mohey El-Dein; and Dr. Bahgat Abu El Nasr, Director General of the Arab Economic Integration Department (AEID) affiliated to the Arab League.
Dr. Ahmed Farouq Ghoneim, Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences; Dr. Mahmoud FathAllah, Economics Consultant at the Arab League; and Dr. Magda Shahien, former Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Relations, have also published their articles in the issue.
