COVID-19: US Surpasses 281,000 Deaths

The U.S suffered the largest Covid-19 outbreak in the world, it hits 14,759,800 confirmed cases of Covid-19, and the death toll is now at least 281,878, according to the reports issued on Sunday.

Moreover, in May, President Donald Trump reported that the U.S. accounts for 4 % of the world’s population, it has had around 20% of the world’s coronavirus deaths.

It took nearly 100 days before the U.S. had one million Covid-19 cases after initial cases started appearing on Jan. 20, CNN reported Sunday.

On Sunday morning, there were 281,234 Covid-19 deaths and 14,592,629 virus cases, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, November saw a surge of hospitalizations and deaths, and over 200,000 coronavirus cases were reported within a 24-hour span on Dec.2, CNN reported. Also, the daily total Covid-19 cases and, for the first time, the 100,000 cases in a single day.

Also, the U.S. outbreak is expected to worsen, potentially reaching 400,000 fatalities by the end of January, according to Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and a Pfizer Inc. board member.

On other hand, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar reported, that all Americans who want a corona vaccination should be able to get one by the second quarter of next year.
