The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) said that Egypt has received positive feedback from major international institutions regarding their efforts to develop and localize electronic and high-tech industries.

Between 2016 and 2021, Egypt saw a significant increase of 460% in the proportion of technological goods exports to total industrial exports, IDSC reported.

Additionally, data from the World Bank and UNCTAD shows that Egypt achieved a 116.6% increase in the volume of their exports of electrical goods during the same period.

According to a report from IDSC, Samsung, the South Korean electronics company, has announced plans to establish a new smartphone assembly factory in an industrial complex located in Beni Suef, Egypt.

This will be Samsung's second factory in the area, with the first one being used for the production of electronic devices such as mobile phones, televisions, and tablets.

The tech market in Egypt also saw an increase in electronics design companies in Egypt in recent years by 22%, and a boom in the optical fiber industry with an 8k km production capacity, with the start of the export process to Europe during Q4 of 2022, IDSC noted.
