Universal announced Tuesday Idris Elba's adventure thriller movie "Beast", will hit theaters on August 19, 2022.
It is written by Ryan Engle, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, and produced by the prolific Will Packer and James Lopez, president of Will Packer Productions.
"Beast" is executive produced by Jaime Primak Sullivan and Bernard Bellew.
The plot centered around Dr. Nate Samuels (Elba), a recently widowed husband who returns with his two teenage daughters to South Africa where he met his wife. But what begins as a journey of healing turns into a nightmare after they are hunted by a massive rogue lion.
Elba will next be seen in “The Suicide Squad”, “The Harder They Fall,” and “Three Thousand Years of Longing”.
The actor was most recently starred in the Netflix drama “Concrete Cowboy”.
