The Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said that Israel will be present in the first hearing of the South African filing against Israel accusing it of genocide in Palestine. The hearing session will take place on Thursday.
Shatyyeh said that the killing of the Palestinians in Gaza is hitting harder, and violence is increasing in the West Bank. He added that Israel is doing all kinds of killing and torture against Palestinians, in addition to the statements of Israeli officials which call for more killing and violence against Palestinians.
In the same context, Bolivia's Foreign Ministry has announced its support for the lawsuit filed by South Africa before the International Court of Justice against Israel for crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The Bolivian ministry commended South Africa's initiative in this regard, underlining its commitment to the Genocide Convention.
It views this as a historic step in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the necessity for international support of this initiative.
The ministry further noted that Bolivia, in partnership with South Africa, Bangladesh, Comoros, and Djibouti, submitted a lawsuit to the International Criminal Court on November 17th of the past year, seeking an investigation into the situation in the Palestinian territories.
Bolivia is the first country in Latin America to declare its support for South Africa's lawsuit.
