The International Criminal Court's prosecutor, Karim Khan, announced on Saturday that war crimes are being committed across Sudan, vowing to release the names of those involved in the Sudanese war crimes at the appropriate time.
In an interview with Al Arabiya, Khan stated that the Sudanese government has not been serious about investigating the Darfur crimes, and that Khartoum has never cooperated with them, even before the war between the military and the Rapid Support Forces.
"Darfur is now exposed to even more heinous crimes than it has previously witnessed," he added, stating that the International Criminal Court is looking into allegations of war crimes that were recently committed in Sudan.
Khan also stated that "dozens of bodies are lying in the streets of Darfur due to the current fighting."
Additionally, he touched on the Libyan file, stating that "we need real partnerships to succeed in our mission in Libya."
Putin's Arrest
He also spoke about the arrest warrant issued against Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that there is no mistake in issuing an arrest warrant for the Kremlin leader.
"Independent judges are the ones who issued the arrest warrant for Putin," he said.
It is worth noting that the International Criminal Court had issued an arrest warrant against Putin and Russian children's rights commissioner Maria Lfova Belova in March due to the war crime of illegally deporting children.
Russia, like the United States, Ukraine, and China, is not a member of the International Criminal Court.
Since the court does not conduct trials in absentia, Putin will either have to be handed over by Moscow or arrested outside of Russia.
The court comprises 123 countries, and the International Criminal Court's law stipulates that all party states are legally bound to cooperate with the court, meaning they are obligated to execute arrest warrants.
