International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi stated that IAEA is in contact with Iranian nuclear safety authorities to obtain information about the status of the affected nuclear facilities and to assess any broader implications for nuclear safety and security.

Grossi warned that the recent developments are deeply concerning, emphasizing: "I have repeatedly stated that nuclear facilities should never be targeted, regardless of the context or circumstances, as such attacks can harm people and the environment. These types of actions carry serious implications for nuclear safety, security, safeguards, and for regional and international peace and security."

Moreover, he called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further escalation. Grossi reiterated that any military action compromising the safety and security of nuclear facilities could have grave consequences for the Iranian people, the region, and beyond.

Grossi also referred to the resolution adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors on Thursday concerning Iran’s safeguards commitments.

Furthermore, IAEA Chief reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to facilitate technical discussions and support efforts that promote transparency, safety, security, and the peaceful resolution of nuclear-related issues in Iran.
