The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi will visit the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine next week to intensify efforts to help prevent the danger of a nuclear accident during the current conflict in the country.
During his visit, Grossi will be accompanied by a team of experts at the UN agency to deliver vital equipment, including radiometers and protective suits, and conduct X-ray examinations and other things, according to a statement issued by the IAEA.
On his part, the IAEA director said, “We will be able to understand the situation better based on our scientific measurements and technical assessments.”
