Egypt and Turkey became the two main winners for the German tourists' bookings in the last-minute summer holidays in July, according to Germany's Fvw magazine.

According to the latest monthly package holiday booking figures from Amadeus, bookings to Hurghada increased 11% in the last month compared with the correspondent period in the last year.

Marsa Alam's bookings slightly improved after several months of lower demands.

While demands for Turkey's Antalya witnessed a 10% rise in July, as the German tourists have a great passion for the Turkish Riveria.

Amadeus showed that the German bookings to Greece and Spain had slumped this year.

The bookings to Greece's Heraklion and Rhodes went down 6% and 5% respectively in the last month compared to July 2018.

Also, German bookings to Spain's Palma, Canary Islands, Las Palmas, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife South fell to percents ranging between 10 and 25%.

It is worth noting that the Red Sea resort city was ranked 21 in the top 25 tourist destinations list around the world this year, according to TripAdvisor.

Amadeus Leisure IT claims to handle the bulk of offline (travel agency) and online bookings for tour operator holidays on the German market.

In the same context, the Italian media focused on the Egyptian Red Sea shores, as Italian tourists head for them to enjoy an affordable holiday.

Viterbo News reported that Egypt's wonderful shores with their lower coasts encouraged Italians to spend their vacations there, ranging from seven to 10 days.
