Hurghada International Airport received on Monday the first flight coming from Bulgaria, carrying 118 passengers, after seven-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The civil aviation authority in Hurghada airport stressed that the precautionary and preventive measures were strictly implemented in the airport, pointing out to the presence of thermal cameras to detect the temperature of passengers and stickers for social spacing as well as guidelines for passengers to ensure the safety of travelers and workers.
It also added that all the foreign tourists’ belongings and personal luggage were sterilized, affirming that the airports appeared in a decent and honorable manner.
It is worth mentioning that, EgyptAir resumed direct flights on July 1, after a nearly four-month hiatus.
The International Council for Tourism and Travel (ICTT) in June granted Egypt the “Safe Travel Stamp” after approving the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ health safety regulations to receive foreign tourism.
The areas that will open for foreign tourists in the first stage are South Sinai, where the popular seaside resort of Sharm El-Sheikh is located, the Red Sea governorate, home to the city of Hurghada, and Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean.
