Hunter Biden, son of President-elect Joe Biden, revealed Wednesday that he is under investigation into his "tax affairs" by Delaware federal prosecutors.
Hunter said the Delaware attorney general's office is investigating his tax affairs.
He added, "I take this matter very seriously, but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will prove that I have dealt with my affairs legally and appropriately.
Biden's son, the brother Beau Biden, was Delaware's attorney general before his death, did not reveal any further details of the investigation.
A spokesman for David Weiss, the U.S. attorney for Delaware, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
