The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Oleg Nikolenko, criticized Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in which he stressed that it is impossible for Ukraine to win in the confrontation with Russia and that the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) will not defend it.
"European politicians argued last year that Ukraine has no chance of holding out for more than 72 hours. They were wrong then, and they are wrong now," Nikolenko said.
Earlier, Orban said that Kyiv has no chance of defeating Russia without sending "NATO" forces to Ukraine, but the alliance will not do so.
For his part, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, "The West has failed to destroy our economy, drop our national currency, and cause devastating inflation in the country."
Mishustin added in his speech during the Russian-Chinese Business Forum in Shanghai yesterday, Tuesday, that "Russia has been subjected to an unprecedented attack and pressure from sanctions in the past year to destroy our economy, causing the collapse of the national currency, causing devastating inflation, and hitting the standard of living of citizens."
