Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban has demanded the departure of the EU leadership, urging the opening of opportunities for new leaders.

Orban's call comes amidst what he perceives as the principle of "rule of law" in the Union being wielded as a tool for political blackmail.

Speaking at a press conference, Orban stated, "The current EU leadership has embarked on several major projects of its own choosing, including the Green Deal, sustainable development policy, immigration, military policy, and sanctions policy, all of which have failed.

The current leadership of the EU needs to step down... We need new leaders."

Orban recalled a statement made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, declaring that Hungary would not receive any funds from the Union due to its immigration policy and social state approach.

He added, "The principle of the rule of law in the EU has turned into a tool for political blackmail."

On April 10th, the Hungarian government opposed the EU's migration policy and rejected support for the new migration agreement.

Orban described this migration agreement as "an additional nail in the coffin of the EU."
