Hungary has accused Ukraine of "blackmailing" Hungary and Slovakia by halting oil deliveries, according to Gergely Gulyas, an aide to Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
The disruption comes after Russian oil supplier Lukoil ceased shipments to both countries.
Gulyas claimed Ukraine is leveraging the oil stoppage as a means of pressure, disrupting fuel supplies for nations advocating for peace.
He warned of potential fuel shortages and stressed the need for a resolution by September.
In response, Hungary and Slovakia have requested European Commission mediation to address the issue.
Hungary, which relies on Lukoil for approximately 2 million metric tons of oil annually—about a third of its total oil imports—faces significant concerns about the supply chain disruption.
