Hundreds of flights have been canceled across the United States due to two winter storms that have dumped over a foot of snow in the Hudson Valley in New York and sparked warnings of snowstorms across the Great Plains.
The National Weather Service reported that the first storm was still bringing heavy snow to Boston and New England on Sunday, according to Bloomberg News.
Areas north and west of New York City, including the Upper Hudson River Valley, saw snow accumulations ranging from 6 to 12 inches.
The two storms have contributed to the cancellation of 692 flights across the United States as of early Sunday, with Boston, New York, Seattle, and Chicago being the most affected cities, according to FlightAware, a flight tracking company.
Amtrak, the passenger railway company, canceled some trains headed for Boston as well as across the Midwest.
Additionally, approximately 11,800 customers were without power in Massachusetts, particularly in Middlesex County north and west of Boston.
