Video...Huge Explosion Rocks Ammunition Depot in Libya's Tripoli

On Monday, a heavy explosion hit a facility that may be an ammunition depot in the Libyan capital of Tripoli.

According to press reports, citing Libyan sources, the incident took place at a facility in the Janzour region west of Tripoli.

The sources added that the facility may by a warehouse used by one of the armed groups operating in the area.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, held a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Presidential palace in Istanbul, according to the GNA's media office.

Al-Sarraj and Erdogan agreed to enhance mutual horizons of cooperation between Turkey and Libya to include various economic and development fields during the coming period.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of fostering security and military cooperation, especially in the field of building Libyan defense and security capabilities through the launch of training and rehabilitation programs.

Libya has been in a state of a political crisis since the overthrow of long-standing leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. A number of militia groups are involved in a power struggle in North African the country, which is exposed to frequent militant attacks.
