Huawei has announced the launch of its new GT Runner 2 smartwatch, positioning the device as a high-performance rival to leading models from Apple and Samsung in the global wearable market.
The Huawei GT Runner 2 features a durable titanium, plastic, and impact-resistant glass body, measuring 43.5 x 43.5 x 10.7 mm and weighing just 34.5 grams. The smartwatch carries an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance, enhancing its suitability for sports and outdoor use.
The device is equipped with a 1.32-inch AMOLED display offering a 466 x 466-pixel resolution, a pixel density of 352 ppi, and peak brightness reaching 3,000 nits. The screen is protected by Huawei’s Kunlun Crystal glass technology for added durability against scratches and impacts.
In terms of health and fitness tracking, the GT Runner 2 includes advanced sensors capable of monitoring body temperature, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels. It also supports satellite-based positioning systems for accurate location tracking during workouts and outdoor activities.
Huawei has integrated NFC technology for contactless payments and Bluetooth 6.0 for seamless wireless connectivity with smartphones and other devices. Additional features include an electronic compass and built-in speakers for notifications and music playback.
The smartwatch is powered by a 540 mAh battery with wireless charging support. Huawei says the device will be available in black, light blue, and orange color options, with pricing starting at approximately €400.
