CAIRO, Nov.19 (SEE) - Just as you walk the busy alleys of downtown Cairo with its cafes and shops, you may be lucky enough to discover an alley that hosts CaiRoma, an island of tasty food and beautiful music right behind the Bustan Mall that will take you both to Italy and the days of black and white joy.

A few months ago, a one-table restaurant offered exquisite Italian pizza and pasta in the heart of Cairo’s downtown. Now expanded, the warm restaurant offers a totally beautiful experience in the midst of Cairo’s hustle and bustle.

Salah, the owner of the restaurant who wholeheartedly follows every detail of the service offered, was once a resident of the same building where Cairoma is located. He travelled the world, lived in London and Italy, and when he came back, he said he missed beauty; the birds, and trees that were replaced with a garage and lots of technology shops. And just like that, he went on to create it.

He started by one table, designing the entrance and carving the wooden details himself with his friends and quickly took over the whole alley. The people who help him create this food and atmosphere? All Egyptians he met in Italy, where they learned how to bake these great tastes and a complete enjoyable experience to the guest.

Naturally, he quickly found his guest: people who look for a solemn, enjoyable setting and good food.

And the already loyal lovers of these touristy experience enjoy every detail: the hospitality of the people, the white and red table cloth, the green plants hanging around them, and the black and white photos on the wall.

But it all comes with hard work, Salah says. Italian food is not about pasta or pizza, it’s good food that comes as a result of trying different ingredients and working hard to improve them and add to them every day. And it comes with love, it is all made with love, for the people who love good taste and a joyful taste of life.

To get a bite this great taste, try a 2 halves pizza with the perfect Bufala cheese and salmon, or a Bruschettas with their wonderful additions of garlic, sauce, and greeneries, or simply drop by for a coffee. The seafood ingredients are an absolute strength as well, not to mention the few but delicious desserts. They also offer a one day “hunt” for Egyptian food like fetta and Mahshi.

There are few restaurants in Egypt – especially Italian ones - that gather a great ambient, with great food and service. Cairoma is definitely one of these, and its location offers an additional plus for those seeking an original Egyptian experience in the downtown, which Salah bets will come back as strongly as ever.
