Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi said targeting U.S. military bases in the region is a “legitimate right,” declaring the group’s readiness to act in coordination with Iran as regional tensions continue to escalate.
In remarks broadcast by Houthi-affiliated media, al-Houthi said Iran is fighting what he described as a broader battle on behalf of the Islamic nation against what he called “American-Israeli aggression.” He added that the Houthis stand fully prepared to move in solidarity with Tehran if developments require.
Al-Houthi stressed that any Iranian strikes on U.S. bases in the region should not be viewed as attacks on the host countries themselves, but rather as actions directed at American military presence. He urged regional actors to support Iran through political and popular pressure aimed at halting what he described as ongoing aggression.
The Houthi leader also called for mass demonstrations in Yemen, urging large-scale rallies in the capital, Sanaa, and other provinces to show solidarity with Iran.
His comments come amid heightened regional tensions following Israeli and U.S. military actions targeting sites inside Iran, including in Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj and Kermanshah. Iranian authorities have announced a broad retaliatory response involving missiles and drones.
