The Houthi group in Yemen announced on Sunday that it had launched three drone attacks targeting the Israeli port of Haifa and military sites in Yafa (Jaffa) and Ashkelon, in what it described as a continuation of its military support for Palestinians amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

In an official statement, the group declared that the drone operation was carried out in response to what it called war crimes and collective punishment by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza, including starvation tactics and repeated violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"The operation comes as part of our duty to stand with the oppressed Palestinian people and their brave resistance, and in retaliation for the genocidal crimes and the desecration of Al-Aqsa’s courtyards by the Zionist enemy," the statement said.

The Houthis stressed that their supportive military operations against Israel will continue until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted. They also reiterated that such strikes are part of a broader effort to confront what they consider to be Israeli occupation and systemic violations of international law.
