Yemen’s Houthi group has announced the launch of a new military operation targeting Israeli territory, describing it as the “fifth operation” since the start of the recent escalation.

In a statement released shortly before the announcement, the group said the attack targeted areas in Tel Aviv, specifically Jaffa, using drones and a fragmentation missile. The operation marks a continuation of the Houthis’ expanding military activities beyond Yemen’s borders.

The group indicated that the latest strike was carried out in coordination with Iran and Hezbollah, describing it as the third joint operation between the parties in recent weeks. Previous operations had been conducted independently by the Houthis, suggesting a shift toward broader regional coordination.

This development reflects what observers describe as a growing alignment within the so-called “Axis of Resistance,” with the Houthis increasingly integrating their operations into a wider network of allied groups. The pace of joint military coordination has accelerated in recent weeks, pointing to a more organized escalation at the regional level.

Separately, the Houthis announced the arrest of a cell inside Yemen allegedly working on behalf of Israel. Yemen’s internationally recognized government rejected the claim, stating that the arrests lack legal basis and describing them as arbitrary measures.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions and a surge in cross-border attacks, raising concerns over further escalation involving multiple actors across the Middle East.
