During the General Session, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Hanafy El-Gebaly, delivered a speech concerning the resignation of the current government to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
El-Gebaly said: "I have just received the news of the resignation of the current government. I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the outgoing government for their efforts during a period that witnessed many events, changes, and challenges on both domestic and international fronts. These challenges highlighted the capabilities and potentials of this government, demonstrating an exemplary model of cooperation with the Egyptian Parliament.
He added: "I wish Dr. Mostafa Madbouly the best of luck as he is tasked with forming the new government. I hope he will select new members who have the ability to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian people and the goals of the Egyptian state, particularly those outlined in the presidential statement regarding the acceptance of the government's resignation."
