The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot weather will prevail in most of the country during Monday’s daylight hours.

Moderately hot weather is also expected to prevail in the North Coast, while the south of the country will experience scorching conditions.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index by 2-4 degrees.

The country also witnesses mist, extending into fog, on the agricultural and highway roads from the north of the country to Cairo, Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt.

There is a chance of light rainfall prevailing intermittently in Cairo, the Northwest Coast, North Lower Egypt, North Upper Egypt, Western Sahara, and Matruh desert.

Meteorologists also predict that the country will continue experiencing a gradual rise in temperature.

Wind speeds between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour (km/h) are expected to occasionally occur across the country, stirring up sand and dust in South Sinai.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience low to moderate waves, ranging between 1 and 1.75 meters in height varying between northeast and southeast surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to turbulent, ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Meanwhile, the Gulf of Suez will experience moderate to turbulent waves ranging between 2 and 3 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Moderate weather is also expected to prevail in Egypt at night and in the early morning.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 34°C in Cairo, 29°C in Alexandria, 27°C in Marsa Matruh, 38°C in Sohag, 40°C in Qena, and 40°C in Aswan.
