The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot and humid weather will prevail in most of the country during Monday’s daylight hours.

Extremely hot weather is also expected to prevail in the south of the country.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index by 1-2 degrees.

The country also witnesses mist, extending into fog, on the agricultural and highway roads from the north of the country to Cairo, Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt.

Wind speeds between 30 and 40 (km/h) are expected to occur occasionally in most parts of the country, stirring up sand and dust in South Upper Egypt and the Red Sea governorate.

There is a 20% chance of light rainfall prevailing intermittently in the North Coast and North Lower Egypt.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience moderate waves, ranging between 1.5 and 2 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez will be moderate to turbulent, ranging between 2 and 3 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Moderate and humid weather is also expected to prevail in most parts of Egypt at night and in the early morning.

Moderately hot weather is also expected to prevail in South Sinai and South Upper Egypt.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 33°C in Cairo, 29°C in Alexandria, 28°C in Marsa Matruh, 37°C in Sohag, 39°C in Qena, and 40°C in Aswan.
