Ambassador Hossam Zaki, speaking on the sidelines of the summit, stated that the Arab League's participation is part of a continuous framework of political support for Sudan, as mandated by the various levels of the League’s Council.

Zaki presented the summit with five fundamental pillars for a resolution, which he noted were derived from the League's extensive consultations with Sudanese civil forces and political alliances. He emphasized the necessity of a Sudanese-owned political track, the urgency of a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue, and the need to intensify the current preparatory phase of negotiations.

The Ambassador also warned against the proliferation of competing diplomatic efforts, stressing the importance of avoiding parallel political tracks. He called for the adoption of a unified "consultation roadmap" to streamline mediation efforts and insisted on achieving full integration between the political process and a sustainable ceasefire.

Furthermore, Zaki highlighted the critical role of the "Quintet Mechanism"—comprising the Arab League, the African Union, the United Nations, the European Union, and IGAD. He described the group as essential for "rationalizing and coordinating international initiatives" aimed at restoring stability and ending the three-year-old conflict.
