Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has determined to achieve his goal of restoring the Russian Empire.
Clinton added – in statements published by the American newspaper “The Hill” – that “Putin believes in himself that he is the savior of Russia.
The newspaper pointed out that Clinton’s statements came on the sidelines of her participation in an annual festival of literature and arts in the United Kingdom (UK).
Clinton explained that she continued to notice the Russian president’s direction towards himself and his country while she was leading the US State Department when Putin was then prime minister in Russia.
Clinton revealed that she had written letters warning that Putin would pose a threat to Europe and the rest of the world, but she hoped he would follow a more cooperative path with the United States of America (USA).
