Higher Universities’ Council Follows up Egyptian Students in Sudan

The Higher Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is following up on the current events in the brotherly country of Sudan, in light of its recent political developments.

Egypt’s supportive stance towards its African brethren, especially Sudan, reflects the country’s keenness to back nations to fulfill the aspirations of their peoples, who long for stability and prosperity.

The Council stressed that it is coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to check on these students and follow their situation and reassure security.

In the same context, Egypt’s Ministry of Migration and Expatriates’ Affairs in cooperation with the Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum and sovereign security bodies, succeeded in ending the procedures of 120 students who were stranded at the border crossing in-between Egypt and Sudan.

Immediately, the Egyptian embassy in Sudan was contacted and the necessary measures were taken. High level authorities approached the crossing authorities in-between the two countries and expedited procedures.
