Minister of Higher Education Abdul Ghaffar honored a team of engineering students from the Egyptian universities who won second place in the Huawei ICT competition, which was held in China from 26 to 27 May, with the participation of 49 teams who reached the final stage of 1,600 universities at the level of the world.
Abdul Ghaffar praised the achievements made by the Egyptian team in this international competition and show their outstanding talents in the field of information technology.
He stressed the importance of such competitions in spreading the culture of creativity through the discovery of gifted and distinguished in Egyptian universities.
The minister expressed his happiness that the Egyptian team came in second place in this international competition, which indicates the advanced level of the Egyptian students and their abilities to adapt to modern science in the field of ICT. He praised the participation of Egyptian students in the competition in all governorates and their interaction. The number of applicants to the competition was 8600 students from different Egyptian universities.
He stressed the importance of the Ministry's role in spreading awareness of the 4th Industrial Revolution and ICT.
He pointed out the importance of the participation of students of Egyptian universities in international competitions aim at training students on modern technologies and informing them about the global technology.
The minister also attached the importance of encouraging them, spreading the spirit of competition among them, supporting their talents to strengthened the Egyptian society competencies that meet the needs of the domestic market and serve the objectives of sustainable development.
