On Saturday, Hezbollah announced the targeting of the town of Dafna in the western Galilee region for the first time, launching dozens of rockets amid ongoing mutual attacks with Israel since October 2023.
In a statement, Hezbollah indicated that the Katyusha rocket attack was a response to the assault on civilians in the town of Burj Al-Muluk.
The Israeli army reported that approximately 30 shells were detected from Lebanon towards the Golan Heights on Saturday.
The army explained that its air defense system intercepted some of the shells, while the rest landed in open areas.
Additionally, about 10 shells were detected from Lebanon towards the western Galilee, and around 5 towards the upper Galilee. The air defense system intercepted most of these shells, with no injuries reported.
The Israeli fire and rescue services are currently working to extinguish multiple fires that broke out in the area due to the rocket attacks.
A Sky News Arabia correspondent in Lebanon reported that a vehicle was targeted on the road between Burj Al-Muluk and Khiam, in the Marjayoun district of Lebanon, resulting in several injuries.
Since the onset of the Gaza war, there has been almost daily exchange of fire across the Lebanese-Israeli border between Hezbollah, which supports Hamas and its allied factions, and the Israeli army.
