Lebanon's Hezbollah said on Thursday the negotiation with Israel over maritime borders is not a sign of normalization or peacemaking, according to the 961 news website.
This is the first official comment for the parliamentary bloc since the announcement of US-backed talks between Beirut and Tel Aviv on the disputed borders in the Mediterranean Sea.
Hezbollah, which considers Israel as its ultimate opponent, maintained that the talks are not connected with making peace with Israel.
Earlier, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri announced a framework agreement on demarcating the borders between Lebanon and Israel, under the auspices of the United States.
Berri revealed its most prominent provisions and stressed that it is the result of a decade’s work, but it is not final.
