Rian Johnson released on Monday the first look photo at “Wake Up Dead Man,” the third movie in the “Knives Out” franchise, due 2025.
The first look photo shows Daniel Craig in a long hairdo and dressed up as the quirky Southern detective Benoit Blanc, wearing a three-piece suit and holding a hat.
The director dropped the photo on social media commemorating the first day of shooting for “Wake Up Dead Man,”.
“Wake Up Dead Man” also features an all-star cast including Josh O’Connor (“Challengers”), Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), Andrew Scott (“All of Us Strangers”), Kerry Washington (“Scandal”), Glenn Close (“Fatal Attraction”), Jeremy Renner (“The Avengers”), Mila Kunis (“Black Swan”), Daryl McCormack (“Good Luck to You, Leo Grande”), Josh Brolin (“Dune: Part Two”) and more.
Johnson penned the script and will produce through his T-Street along with producing partner Ram Bergman.
Plot details are unknown, but Johnson promises the third installment in the murder mystery franchise will be Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.”
“Wake Up Dead Man” will be distributed by Netflix as part of Johnson’s two-sequel deal with the streamer worth $450 million.
The first installment, released in 2019 by Lionsgate, followed Benoit Blanc as he attempts to figure out who killed the renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey, who died on the night of his 85th birthday.
The most recent pic, Glass Onion, bowed in 2022, takes Blanc to an entirely new case where a tech billionaire invites his closest friends to a private island for a murder mystery game.
The pic premiered on Netflix after the streamer made a record-setting $450 million deal for the two sequels, with this being the third in the franchise.
