The three-day IISS Manama Dialogue 2019 conference, the 15th round of Regional Security Summit, organized by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will kick off in Manama on Friday.
The summit will be held in cooperation with the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Amr Moussa, former Secretary-General of the Arab League will partake in the event.
Senior experts and policymakers around the world will participate in the largest informal political summit in the Middle East, to discuss the most pressing security challenges in the region, with a view to find new solutions to the challenges facing the Middle East.
The conference is expected to be attended by defense and foreign ministers and senior officials from around the world.
The conference will tackle strategic issues such as "The New Geo-Economics of the Middle East", "US Policy and the Alliance Relations in the Region", "Regional Competition and Cooperation", "Defense Diplomacy and Regional Stability", "Maritime Security in the Middle East” , "Managing Conflict and Stabilization in the Region", "Cybersecurity, Global and Regional Challenges", "International Law and Security in the Middle East", "Greyzone Warfare and Asymmetric Threats in the Middle East", “Navigating Geopolitical Change”, and “The Middle East in the Global”. Context.
Bilateral meetings will be held, on the sidelines of the conference, between ministers and officials, followed by a televised opening session entitled New Geo-Economics in the Middle East.
It is scheduled that five and four sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday respectively, in addition to the closing plenary session entitled "The Middle East in the Global Context" on Monday.
A number of young leaders from regional countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan, will participate in the 2019 program during the Manama Dialogue.
It is worth mentioning that Bahrain has been hosting the Manama Dialogue Summit since 2004, jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), based in London.
Dozens of senior officials, businessmen, international dignitaries, economists, politicians and strategic thinkers from around the world will meet in Bahrain to exchange views on security challenges, enhancing the economic prosperity of some emerging countries, and the economic challenges facing some of the developed world countries.
