Helwan University Promotes 10 Teams for the Local Rounds (ECPC) of International Programming Contest

In a new achievement added to its academic record, Helwan University—under the leadership of Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of the University, and the patronage of Dr. Hossam Refai, Vice President for Education Affairs—announced the qualification/promotion of 10 student teams for the local rounds of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ECPC). 

This prestigious global competition in programming and computer science serves as a gateway to the Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship (ACPC), and ultimately to the global finals (ICPC).

Helwan University’s Scientific and Technological Activity Department participated with 50 teams from various faculties, including top students from:

• Faculty of Engineering

• Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence

• Faculty of Commerce (BIS Program)

• Faculty of Science

• Faculty of Fine Arts

• Faculty of Arts

The participating teams demonstrated exceptional skills in logical thinking and problem-solving, leading to the qualification of 10 teams for the local rounds among Egyptian public and private universities and institutes.

The local rounds will be held at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in Abu Qir, Alexandria, under the patronage of the International Development Foundation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Innovators Support Fund.

The contest aims to support students and encourage innovation and teamwork, preparing them for competition at the Arab and global levels.

This qualification reflects Helwan University’s commitment to supporting its students in technological and scientific fields and reinforces its position as a leading educational institution preparing a generation capable of competing internationally. 

The students are participating under the supervision of Ms. Nashwa Ali Moustafa, General Director of the General Administration for Student Welfare, and Mr. Medhat Allam, Director of the Scientific and Technological Activity Department at the university.
