Heavy snowfall has led to road closures, the suspension of public transportation, and flight delays in Beijing, China, as well as other parts of the country, on Monday.
Official Chinese television reported the cancellation of 184 bus routes in Beijing during the morning rush hour due to the weather conditions.
Meanwhile, subway lines saw an increase in the number of trains and additional staff to accommodate commuters shifting from regular roads to the subway, according to agencies.
Authorities noted that the rush hour started much earlier than usual on Monday.
In areas surrounding Beijing, roads were closed in Hebei province, and in northern provinces including Heilongjiang, Liaoning, and Jilin, as well as the Inner Mongolia region, due to heavy snowfall.
Most primary and secondary schools canceled classes, and there have been no initial reports of significant accidents or injuries.
