Heavy Snow Disrupts Flights Across S. Korea

Severe snowfall in the South Korean capital region of Seoul has caused significant disruption to domestic air travel, leading to multiple flight cancellations and delays across the country.

According to Yonhap News Agency, both the Korea Airports Corporation and Incheon International Airport Corporation reported widespread impacts due to adverse weather.

As of Wednesday morning, 12 flights were canceled, including 11 out of 625 scheduled flights across 14 airports nationwide, such as Gimpo Airport.

Among the affected flights, four were canceled at Gimpo and Jeju airports, two at Gimhae, and one at Wonju Airport.

Additionally, 38 flights experienced delays, with 27 at Gimpo, seven at Jeju, three at Gimhae, and one at Yeosu.

At Incheon International Airport, the nation’s busiest hub, one flight out of 1,219 scheduled services was canceled due to the harsh weather conditions, and ten flights were delayed.

Meteorological authorities anticipate the heavy snowfall will persist until Thursday morning, potentially leading to further flight disruptions. Travelers are advised to check updates from airlines and airports for real-time information.
