Violent clashes have resumed in the city of Aleppo, with fighting reported between the Syrian Arab Army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to regional media reports.

The renewed confrontations come amid heightened military tension in northern Syria, raising concerns over further escalation in one of the country’s most strategically sensitive urban centers. Details regarding casualties or territorial changes have not yet been officially confirmed.

In a broader regional context, U.S. officials revealed efforts aimed at preventing further deterioration of the security situation in Syria. A senior American official said that Washington had proposed the establishment of a joint operations room involving Syria and Israel, to be based in Jordan.

According to the proposal, all military activities by Syria and Israel would be temporarily frozen until the joint operations room is formally established. The mechanism would be tasked with managing security arrangements in southern Syria, with the stated objective of stabilizing the situation and preventing unintended military escalation.

Officials added that the proposed operations room is also intended to facilitate the resumption of indirect talks between Syria and Israel, signaling a potential diplomatic track alongside ongoing military tensions on the ground.

The return of clashes in Aleppo underscores the fragility of the security landscape in Syria, as parallel diplomatic initiatives attempt to contain violence and prevent the conflict from spilling further across borders.
