The World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday that the extreme heat wave in Europe will end last week, however, the temperatures will be high.

Moreover, the officials will expect that rise in deaths for old people, and those who suffer from health conditions due to the heat.

Axios, a US news website, confirmed that the freak heat wave sweeping Europe is unprecedented in history, according to urgent news broadcast by Al-Arabiya TV a short time ago.

The Axios added that deaths due to heat in Spain and Portugal have been very high since the beginning of this month,  as more than 1,000 people died in Spain and Portugal due to the heat wave.

Earlier, Spain announced the suspension of trains between Madrid and the region of Galicia due to the fires in the Zamora province.

Also in Spain, the Carlos III Institute of Health indicated that between July 10 and 12, 84 people died in Spain due to high air temperatures, while the newspaper “News” reported that most of the victims were over 85 years old.

The Spanish Meteorological Agency raised the weather warning level for most regions to yellow (hazard) and orange (high risk) due to the heat wave.

Forecasts indicate record temperatures or the most extreme since the beginning of historical measurements to include several regions of Europe; and warnings due to the high risk of fires in the forests, and others due to the exposure of some areas to drought.

On the other hand. the German authorities stated that there were 20 fires in the Zamora region which are still out of control.
