The Ministry of Health and Population has stressed that vaccinating citizens with COVID-19 booster shots help to strengthen their immunity.
In a statement, Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that 1,329,382 citizens have received the booster shot so far, shedding light on its great importance in protecting against infection.
Moreover, the spokesman added that the vaccines are safe and effective.
On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 882 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 492774.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 24, 244 nationwide after the ministry announced 22 deaths.
About 912 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 423, 135.
