The Health Ministry launched on Tuesday a mobile app (Sehat Misr) to raise the citizens' awareness about protecting from the coronavirus.

In a statement, Khaled Megahed, the ministry's spokesman, said all the app data is verified by the ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) and updated according to the latest information.

Megahed noted the app allows its users to communicate with a medical team, which is prepared to deal with any suspected case.

The app download link is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eg.com.eserve.sehatmisr.

Anyone, through this app, can report about himself or anyone else in case of suspected infection with coronavirus.

It also notifies users in case of approaching or being at any coronavirus site to take the precautionary measures.

The app users can communicate with the ministry via Whatsapp, the spokesman pointed out, adding Sehet Misr includes articles and advice about ways to boost the immune system as well as information about the virus.

It is worth noting that Egypt confirmed on Monday 125 new coronavirus cases, all of them are Egyptians except one, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 2,190.

Five more deaths were confirmed, raising the death toll to 164.
