On Sunday, the Ministry of Health clarified the symptoms of the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

The ministry revealed that the most common symptoms of the virus are fever, runny nose, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, and sneezing.

Therefore, the ministry asserted that RSV can be transferred fast, so children who suffer from any of the virus symptoms should be kept away from other children at home, schools, and nurseries.

In addition, it highlighted that sometimes children may need to see a doctor after the beginning of symptoms.

Some protective procedures should be followed such as washing hands, cleaning surfaces, and ventilating the rooms well.

Previously, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, said that Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections are mild and moderate.

Abdel Ghaffar said that the current protocol of treatment is effective and successful.

He pointed out that RSV is not a pandemic, and it has existed for a long time.

"All hospitals present the medical services related to RSV for free, and there is accurate observation and detection for all respiratory viruses, especially ahead of winter," the official said.

Finally, he asserted that the Health Ministry provided all required treatments and medicines.
