Egypt has vaccinated about 40 million citizens against COVID-19 so far, Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar revealed on Sunday.
In televised remarks, he added that the country has managed to provide all types of Coronavirus vaccines during the last period.
It is worth mentioning that, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced on Sunday the start of clinical trials for CoviVacc, the country’s first coronavirus vaccine.
In a statement, the authority confirmed that the vaccine is a fruitful outcome of cooperation between the National Research Center and Vaccine Valley Company.
On Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 929 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 343,026.
